Water Dragons at Taronga Zoo, Sydney
.
.
RANGE: The east coast of Australia.
HABITAT: Near fresh water.
SIZE: Up to one metre.
DIET: Insects, chopped meat and fruit - in captivity.
CONSERVATION STATUS: Fortunately they are widely bred in captivity. A robust species, well they are Australian.
NOTES: This photograph was taken near the zoo entrance, adjacent to the information booth. Always ask 'information' for the best photo opportunities. The public walked above them, oblivious.
