HABITAT: Water often inland lakes and marshes in colonies
SIZE: 5 foot height 9 foot wingspan
DIET: Fish mainly
NOTES: Also known as Great White Pelican Roseate Pelican European White Pelican & Old World Pelican. Fly in V-formation. Young cared for by both parents. Can group together in a horseshoe formation and dip their bills together to trap fish creating a sort of net of beaks.

The pictures show the famous pelicans in St. James Park London near Buckingham Palace. King Charles II (reigned 1660-1685) constructed a waterway here and introduced pelicans and other waterfowl.
